Thinking big…

..acting small

Thinking big helps make our smaller choices much clearer. There's a secret super power in seeing the bigger picture, seeing the sum of all the parts and in seeing through the veneer of advertising and marketing to become a more conscious consumer. Once we tap into a big-thinking-small-acting mindset, rethinking rubbish starts to get a lot easier!

Saying no to things is one of the first steps you'll take. Sometimes that's easy, ‘no straw for me thanks’. Sometimes it's tougher, ‘no thanks, I don't need to update my phone when the shiny new one comes out.’

But it's all going to be ok, we found zero waste chocolate!

Seriously. The packaging is compostable, it's made from recycled card printed with vegetable ink and a plastic inner that's made from veg cellulose. Oh and it is sugar free, dairy free, fair trade and delicious! For me it was important to know if I needed to sacrifice something I love (ahem, chocolate) that I could find a good substitute.

Ok so maybe chocolate isn't your thing, everyone's thing is different. Find yours and start to research some alternatives!

Small changes week by week make it feel easy. And no one's going to come down on you if you slip up. These are your choices to make however you see fit. Some weeks will be better than others, so celebrate your wins along the way!

There's no secret to saying no to things you only think you want. You just need to say no! Sometimes doing a one month challenge helps force us to break the old habit of buying things we don't need. Once we've broken that habit it becomes easier to say no to excess stuff.
